IPAF Loading and Unloading Training Course:

The IPAF Loading and Unloading training course is designed for operators in the correct safety procedures for the loading, unloading, and securing of plant machinery prior to or following transportation by road.

This 1-day IPAF Loading and Unloading course Upon completion of the course, candidates will be able to:

  • Safely load, unload and secure machinery using the appropriate MEWP equipment onto a suitable trailer or vehicle ready for transportation on a public highway.
  • Link methods of work to legal requirements.
  • Identify associated hazards and apply effective control measures to prevent accidents.

*In addition to the general course entry criteria, all delegates must have satisfactorily completed a recognised IPAF Operator’s course for the MEWP categories they wish to be trained on*

The training requires candidates to undertake a written test and practical assessment. On successful completion, delegates will be able to access their certification via the ePAL app. Should a physical PAL card and/or certificate be required, this must be requested at time of booking and will be charged at an extra cost.  The IPAF – International Powered Access Federation licence is internationally accepted and is valid for 5 years.

Entry requirements: Delegates must have a good understanding of English at operative level and should also hold a current driving licence for the type of vehicle to be loaded. In addition to the general course entry criteria, all delegates must have satisfactorily completed a recognised IPAF Operator’s course for the MEWP categories they wish to be trained on.

On successfully completing this course, you’ll receive an IPAF Loading and Unloading certificate. All IPAF certification is issued electronically via ePAL.  The International Powered Access Federation licence is recognised internationally.

Delegates will be required to download the IPAF ePAL app onto their device to access any certification they hold with IPAF prior to the training taking place.

Should a physical PAL card and/or certificate be required, this must be requested at time of booking and will be charged at an additional cost.

Assessment details

The qualification is assessed through a theory assessment paper which the learner must successfully pass then complete the practical assessment . Once completed the delegate will be awarded the IPAF Loading & Unloading (Load) qualification.
