- Quite simply YES. We can arrange for a qualified person to attend your location and determine what equipment will be the most suitable.
- If your hire is required at very short notice a survey may be difficult to arrange, so please give as much notice as possible.
- Site surveys are generally without charge. However, if there are to be any charges we will notify you before any survey takes place.
- In short, YES. Ideally you need hired in plant insurance. This can either be a stand-alone policy, or an addition to your existing insurance.
- Yes, you will need a credit account with Davis Access.
- On request we will send you the needed forms.
- However, if you prefer you can pay in advance via proforma invoice.
- Additionally, we are equipped to accept credit card payments.
- One of the big advantages of hiring through Davis Access is that we utilise the fleets of numerous hire companies. Therefore, we can help more than most at short notice.
- But, in general the more notice we are given the more chance we have of fulfilling your need.
- Typically, MEWPs can be ordered up to 90 days in advance.
Once you have finished with the machine, please contact Davis Access to arrange off-hire.
- We will issue an off-hire number via email, which should be retained as confirmation of when the hire ended.
- Following off-hire notification, we aim to collect the machine within 72 hours unless otherwise agreed.
- It remains the hirer’s responsibility to keep the equipment safe until the machine is collected.
- In the UK it is required that every user of plant equipment needs to have proof of adequate training.
- The standard training for MEWP use in the UK is IPAF.
- Davis Access core business is providing IPAF MEWP training. Please contact us and we will talk you through exactly what you need.
- In the machine descriptions on our hire website each entry details which license you will need for that specific machine.
- Every MEWP has a wind rating. Vital information to keep you safe.
- A Zero wind rating means this machine can only be used in a fully enclosed space. Indoors with doors closed.
- The most typical wind rating for a MEWP is 12.5m/s (28mph). But always check your machines handbook as wind ratings do differ.
- Knowing the wind rating of your machine is one thing. You will need to know how windy it is no the day. Therefore, you will need an anemometer. These are not expensive and can be purchased from Davis Access.
